Did you have a fun Halloween? I didn't have any plans this year, and you know what fills a space like that for me is usually creative time. I warmed my belly with some soup ahead of time, geared up for the crazy Portland rain, and marched out into the streets to the locally owned craft store for some soft blocks. It was time to try my hand at block prints.
I don't know if you know this about me, but I love printmaking. I love editions. It is one of the reasons I arranged Post, my art subscription service, to highlight hand-painted original art- I paint a few individual, repeated paintings for my subscribers each month. It's a long version of a print, painting copies, but I enjoy putting care into each one. Probably because I have long since learned patience and excitement in making print editions. Repetition, but such fun!
These little cuties made the final cut in delicious strawberry red ink. They're here in my shop, sold individually as blank cards while they last! I am delighted to have handmade prints back in my shop... and I get the feeling more are on the way. Yay!
