It's week 4 of the 100 days project. This is the "make something every day" or "each day a day of practice" exercise going on over at Instagram. Meanwhile, I have left one job and started a new job... I've found it a little challenging keeping up with making something each day. Still, I like the challenge, and I have remained committed to my practice of being IN practice each day.
It all began with one change in my routine I really wanted to bring some mindfulness to. As you may know, my apartment is very small, and I don't have the cooking space or creativity space I'm used to. The two overlap in a preposterous juggle. Eating was taking the hit even while I took great care to prepare and cook my meals, so I have decided to begin my "creativity" practice my re-creating my mealtimes.
I still eat at my drawing table, but now I have prayerful grace before my meal. and I create a space of beauty around me, instead of just eating a quick something in the midst of my work: watercolors and pencils and scraps of paper lying about.
